Tackling one of the year’s most interesting releases. It’s been a good time to be a fan of Godflesh and Greg Chandler. Not only did Esoteric, fronted by the latter, return late last year with a massive masterpiece of expansive, psychedelic and crushing funeral doom, Lychgate, also fronted by Chandler, put out the excellent The Contagion in Nine Steps in 2018 and followed it up with the equally awe-inspiring EP Also Sprach Futura earlier this year.
