It&#8217;s why I love playthrough videos and drum playthroughs in particular. Besides being much more physically demanding than string instruments, there&#8217;s a lot of nuance in some of these performances that tends to get lost in the chaos. Having a visual to go along with the music makes it easier to pick out (and it&#8217;s a ton of fun to watch besides). Suffice to say I&#8217;m pretty excited about what we&#8217;ve got for you today;\u00a0<strong>The Odious Construct<\/strong> puts out some fine-ass tech death, and watching KC Brand tear it up on the kit to their new single sweetens the pot even more.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"  id=\"_ytid_87900\"  width=\"320\" height=\"240\"  data-origwidth=\"320\" data-origheight=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eDU71-0WiJk?enablejsapi=1&#038;autoplay=0&#038;cc_load_policy=0&#038;cc_lang_pref=&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;loop=0&#038;modestbranding=0&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;playsinline=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;theme=dark&#038;color=red&#038;controls=1&#038;\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  epyt-is-override  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Throne of Misanthropy&#8221; is the first song from the band&#8217;s upcoming full-length, and it sounds like it&#8217;s going to be a step forward for them. They share a fair amount of musical similarity with labelmates\u00a0<strong>Symbolik<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Mordant Rapture<\/strong> in their synth-touched, vaguely neoclassical melodies, but this seems to be moving in a more sinister, evil-sounding direction, and I dig it. There&#8217;s a fair amount of groove in this one, too; an unexpected but welcome surprise. I&#8217;m very much looking forward to both hearing and seeing more of this.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Throne of Misanthropy&#8221; is out now on The Artisan Era; check it out on <a href=\"https:\/\/theodiousconstruct.bandcamp.com\/track\/throne-of-misanthropy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bandcamp<\/a> for the non-instrumental version of the track.
