It\u2019s astonishing how clean the songs sound thanks to the remixing\/remastering job from Jack Shirley. While one might miss the muddiness of <strong>Angel Hair<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Pregnant with the Senior Class<\/em> or the blown-out earache of<strong> Mohinder<\/strong>\u2019s <em>The Mission<\/em>, <em>Untitled <\/em>sparkles with energy and a crisp, clear sound that focalizes both Hassan I Sabbah\u2019s songwriting and knack for total chaos. I think it was called Island Music. Given that <strong>Limp Bizkit <\/strong>was from Jacksonville, which was only an hour away, <em>3 Dollar Bill Y\u2019all <\/em>was featured in the \u201cLocal\u201d section. I remember listening to <strong>Misfits<\/strong>\u2019 <em>Famous Monsters <\/em>in there and thinking, \u201cPeople like this fucking band?\u201d I bought a copy of <strong>Obituary<\/strong>\u2019s <em>World Demise <\/em>for $4 from the Used section. Glutted Swarm would approve. The guitar tone. The vocals. A week after he told me that story, I was listening to <em>Higherlander <\/em>and texted the recommendation. \u201cI just played with them,\u201d he said. So, I guess neither of us remembers shit from that night. Immensely engaging longform post-hardcore that\u2019s sorta like a proggier <strong>City of Caterpillar <\/strong>with a little <strong>Botch <\/strong>mathiness and a little <strong>Big Business <\/strong>groove and a little <strong>Helms Alee<\/strong> doom.
