Stream the first track from his project after the jump.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/thelivingdoorway\/ocean-is-more-ancient-than-the-mountains-and-freighted-with-the-memories-and-the-dreams-of-time<\/p>\n<p>Post-rock\/metal is a difficult genre to play \u2013 not technically (like Uttley\u2019s main gig), but emotionally. The subtle build-ups, the heart-wrenching climaxes and the expressive come downs are crucial, yet the\u00a0track is rendered void\u00a0unless there is an emotional connection made with\u00a0the listener. Consider the chord struck with me; While \u2018<em>Ocean is more ancient than the mountains, and freighted with the memories and the dreams of time<\/em>\u2019 breaks no new ground in the post-genre realm, Uttley still manages to write a down-tempo beauty.
