You know what it is. And if you don’t know, now you know: I write, you read. I get rich (with virtual hugs) and you get informed. Win win.

If you’re anything like myself, there is a good chance you enjoy healthy doses of Dying Fetus and Misery Index, perhaps even in the same package. John “Sparky” Voyles, who has played guitar for both bands has recently joined the ranks of Fulgora, a progressive death metal band that features both Adam and John Jarvis, the cousins who are perhaps best known for their involvement in the absolutely killer rhythm section of Pig Destroyer. You can stream Fulgora’s 2015 release, Stratagem, by stabbing this link. Be on the lookout for the following gigs:

05/21 Brooklyn, NY @ The Acheron (w/ Blooded Head, Sunrot & Scowl)

05/23 Baltimore, MD @ The Edison Lot*

09/12 Cave-In-Rock, IL @ Full Terror Assault

*This is the main stage of Maryland Death Festival. For details on this and all the other great festivals I will never be able to attend, report here & here.

If you’re not familiar with these guys, you should get acquainted. Start with their last album Container Ships (2012) and work your way backwards. Thank me later.

My favorite pastime is plugging random shots of hip hop into metal blogs. De La Soul just put out a new track, featuring none other than Nasty Nas himself. This song won’t be on their new album, but you can download it for free on this link. Stream “God It” below:
