Welcome once again to This Toilet Tuesday! You know the drill: Karhu, W, and I have taken on the insurmountable task of sifting through the shit so you don’t have to. That said, sometimes we miss something. Prove how much more kvlt you are than us by pontificating about it in the comments.

Körgull the Exterminator – Reborn from the Ashes (Van Records) [Black Metal] Varg the mighty, Varg the brave

Shadowland – Last Night Before the Storm (Independent) [Atmospheric Black Metal] This week, I decided to dive into new Bandcamp releases to see if anything interesting had dropped. I think I’ve been hanging out with Pagliacci too much, because a trees’n’stuff black metal album was the first thing that caught my attention. Russia’s Shadowland play an atmospheric brand of black metal that provides a suiting soundtrack for quiet introspection as snow falls gently from a somber sky. Cold acoustic passages and glimmering synths adorn the decidedly lo-fi compositions of Last Night before the Storm like the chilly glow of the aurora borealis. This album may be a little too serene for those of you craving filth and destruction, but listeners who enjoy pondering the enormity of nature will appreciate this in solemn solitude. FFO: Gris, Nordfrost, Mesarthim 11/22/15 (W.)

Autopsy – Skull Grinder (Peaceville Records) [Death Metal] Now for something that sounds completely different from Shadowland. At this point in their career, Autopsy aren’t delivering a whole lot of surprises, and that’s just fine. If “Waiting for the Screams” is any indication, Skull Grinder is loaded with bowel-shaking growls and neck-breaking riffs. The rhythm varies from quick to zombie-crawl slow, but it never ceases to keep your body moving. Get your skull ground. FFO: Asphyx, Obituary, Pungent Stench 11/27/15 (W.)

Adrenechrome – Tales from Adrenechrome (Independent) [Doom] When a band is so invested in the stoner aesthetic, I tend to pass them over without a second thought. When they sprinkle in the best parts of Mastodon with their sound, they give me pause. Adrenechrome have riffs for days, interspersing smoky grooves with surprisingly proggy passages and fierce, earthy vocals. Give this one a shot if you’re looking for a twist in the well-traveled path. 11/27/15 (Spear)

Abaddon RD – Tragic Eternal Mutation (Independent) [Heavy Metal]

Abysmal Lord – Disciples of the Inferno (Hells Headbangers) [Blackened Death Metal] Adalwolf – …wenn sich der Wolf erhebt… (Independent) [Black Metal] Al-Namrood – Diaji Al Joor (Shaytan Records) [Folk Metal] Ärid – The Earth, A Corpse (Eerie Silence) [Black Metal] The Arrival of Satan – Passion Sodomy Terror (Osmose Productions) [Black Metal] Butterfly Temple – Вечность (Mazzar Records) [Folk/Doom] Bismuth – Unavailing (De Graanrepubliek/Dry Cough/Box Records/Viral Age/Tartarus) [Drone/Doom] Danzig – Skeletons (Evilive) [lolbuttz] Disphere – Abscience (Rude Awakening Records) [Deathgrind] Ephyra – Along the Path (Bakerteam Records) [Folk Metal] Furze – Baphomet Wade (Freshtea) [Black Metal]

Glacier Eater – Glacier Eater (Independent) [Thrash] Hyems – Devianz – Dem Menschen ein Wolf (Independent) [Black Metal] Immorgon – And Thus We Raid (Independent) [Viking Metal] Jacob Moor – The Evil In Me (BleedingStar Records) [Thrash/Prog] Last Days of Eden – Ride the World (Pride & Joy Music) [Prog Metal]

Lucifer’s Fall – Fuck You We’re Lucifer’s Fall (Independent) [Doom] Necronomicon – Pathfinder… Between Heaven and Hell (Trollzorn Records) [Thrash] Obscene Entity – Lamentia (Tridroid Records) [Death Metal] Penumbra – Era 4.0 (Independent) [Gothic Metal] Resuscitation – Eviscerated Divinity (Iron Bonehead Productions) [Death Metal] Rotten Malefice – En los brazos de la muerte (Gresil Distro) [Death Metal] Saffire – For The Greater Good (AOR Heaven) [Heavy Metal] Serocs – And When The Sky Was Opened (Comatose Music) [Tech Death] Shatter Silence – Shatter Silence (Independent) [Melodeath] Skeleton Pit – Chaos at the Mosh-Reactor (Gegentrend Records) [Thrash] Slamophiliac – Aphelion (Slamchester Records) [Adult Contemporary] Standing Ovation – Gravity Beats Nuclear (Inverse Records) [Regressive Metal] Tyrant of Mary – Five, Regeneration (Independent) [Melodeath] Utvar – Matr (Independent) [Black Metal] Vermingod – Whisperer of the Abysmal Wisdom (Ungodly Ruins Productions) [Death Metal] Voodoo Circle – Whiskey Fingers (AFM Records) [Heavy Metal] Wald – Рог войны (Pagan War Distro Rex) [Black Metal] Whiskey Ritual – Blow with the Devil (Art of Propaganda) [Black Metal] Wilt – Moving Monoliths (Bindrune Recordings) [Black/Death/Doom] Zgard – Totem (Svarga Music) [Folk/Black Metal] Did we forget a new release?
