Welcome once more to This Toilet Tuesday, your weekly music backlog generator. Hans and I had to fight our way through a colony of sewer-dwelling troglodytes to bring you the goods this week, but we have returned triumphantly. There was a lot of shit to wade through, but we found our haul. Jam these new releases and let us know if we missed anything we should know about.

Bonehunter – Sexual Panic Human Machine (Hells Headbangers) [Black Thrash] While I can neither explain that album title nor that cover, what I can tell you is that Bonehunter play some hella fun punk-infused black metal. The first of the two available tracks is already pretty nice, setting the stage with a little intro before embarking on a d-beat romp, but “Digital Evil“ blows it out of the water easily. I love the riffs, I love how nimble the song feels, and perhaps most of all, I love that extremely well-done robo voice in the chorus. Maaaybe Bonehunter could benefit from trimming their songs a little, but as it is, I’m still looking forward to this one a lot. FFO: Saccage, Black Monolith, wolfman dongs 17/8/4 (Hans)

Putrid Offal – Anatomy (Xenokorp) [Deathgrind] Another week, another deathgrind release. This time it’s veterans Putrid Offal serving up a mix of grind and old school death metal. On the one track on offer, the grind manifests itself in chaotic bursts of energy and buzzsaw riffs being played somewhat faster than what you might be used to. The overall sound and the vocals, however, firmly root everything in death metal. This makes for a dynamic mix that manages to go through several tempos in under three minutes. If you fell like some of the OSDM revival bands could do with a healthy caffeine injection now and then, this one is for you. 17/8/4 (Hans)

Gravesite – Neverending Trail of Skulls (Xtreem Music) [Death Metal] On first listen, Gravesite went instantly from a name I barely knew to my most anticipated release of the week. They don’t do anything new or even particularly special in the world of OSDM; they just do everything exactly right. Every riff is on point, the drums are fantastic, and the solos offer up some awesome Carcass-style shred. What it might lack in innovation it makes up entirely in every other respect. Don’t skip this one. 8/1/17 (Spear)

Accept – The Rise of Chaos (Nuclear Blast Records) [Heavy/Speed Metal] Adzalaan – Adzalaan (Vrasubatlat) [Black Metal]

Apparatus – Cthulhu II (Independent) [Blackened Death Metal] Battalions – Moonburn (Independent) [Sludge/Doom] Bloodnut – St. Ranga (Independent) [Stoner Doom] Crossfaith – Freedom (UNFD) [Metalcore] Daemon Rising – When the Light Fades (Independent) [Black Metal] Dark Avenger – The Beloved Bones: Hell (Independent) [Power Metal] Demonshire – Chapter I: Rising (Independent) [Melodeath] Desecrator of Evil – 666 Thrones (Independent) [Black Metal]

Deny The Urge – As Darkness Falls (GUC) [Death Metal] Egisöd – As the Sun Died in the Arms of the Night (Independent) [Black Metal] Ember Sea – How to Tame a Heart (7hard Records) [Gothic Metal] Eshtadur – Mother Gray (Bleeding Music Records) [Blackened Death Metal] From the Hellmouth/Mutilatred – From the Hellmouth/Mutilatred (split- Redefining Darkness Records) [Death Metal] Immortal Sÿnn – Machine Men (Independent) [Heavy Metal] Incursed – The Slavic Covenant (Independent) [Folk Metal]

Kavrila – Blight (Independent) [Sludge] Marty Friedman – Wall of Sound (Prosthetic Records) [Instrumental Prog Metal] Mordenial – The Plague (Black Lion Records) [Melodeath] Mortt – Transendensi (Cvlminis) [DSBM] MRTVI – Negative Atonal Dissonance (Independent) [Skronky Black Metal] Nethermancy – Magick Halls of Ascension (Hellprod Records) [Black Metal] Nuclear Warfare – Empowered by Hate (MDD Records) [Thrash] Paganizer – Land of Weeping Souls (Transcending Obscurity) [Death Metal] Power Crue – Excileosis (Metal Breed Records) [Heavy Metal] Psynonemous – Evolve (Independent) [Progressive Melodeath] Quiet Riot – Road Rage (Frontiers Records) [Heavy Metal] Seven Spires – Solveig (Independent) [Symphonic… everything] The Shadeless Emperor – Ashbled Shores (Wormholedeath) [Melodeath] Taggarik – Harbingers of Hatred (Eternal Death) [Black Metal] Thor – Beyond the Pain Barrier (Cleopatra Records) [Heavy Metal] Thunderstick – Something Wicked This Way Comes (Independent) [Heavy Metal] Toxik – Breaking Class (Independent) [Thrash] Utzalu – The Loins of Repentance (Vrasubatlat) [Black Metal] Wacht – Korona (Independent) [Black Metal] Warbeast – Enter the Arena (Housecore Records) [Thrash]

Wild Witch – The Offering (Arthorium Records) [Heavy Metal] Did we forget a new release?
