But not much. Firstly though, you need to hit play on this killer cut <strong>The Chasm<\/strong> laid down for the 2001 <strong>Kreator<\/strong> Tribute Album &#8211; <em>Under The Guillotine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  style=\"display: block; margin: 0px auto;\"  id=\"_ytid_28438\"  width=\"320\" height=\"240\"  data-origwidth=\"320\" data-origheight=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wcRweofHhf8?enablejsapi=1&#038;autoplay=0&#038;cc_load_policy=0&#038;cc_lang_pref=&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;loop=0&#038;modestbranding=0&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;playsinline=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;theme=dark&#038;color=red&#038;controls=1&#038;\" class=\"__youtube_prefs__  epyt-is-override  no-lazyload\" title=\"YouTube player\"  allow=\"fullscreen; accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen data-no-lazy=\"1\" data-skipgform_ajax_framebjll=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Prior to this week, I&#8217;d not been privy to this particular Kreator tribute. You see, I&#8217;m fairly ambivalent to the whole tribute album thing; and this collection is a perfect example as to why. Sure, there are couple of really excellent adaptations which are skilfully crafted with obvious attention to transposing the original artist&#8217;s intent, but for the most part, it&#8217;s just another bunch of other largely forgettable, objectively inferior attempts at direct covers. Some even sit on the verge of seeming like a fucking insult to the band being paid &#8216;tribute&#8217;. Even a late appearance from <strong>Abigor<\/strong> cannot redeem this severely lacklustre homage. As far as Kreator tribute albums go, it&#8217;s definitely inferior to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=sEj7IoP5AcI&amp;list=RDsEj7IoP5AcI&amp;t=7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collection from the year 2000<\/a> featuring <strong>Mystifier<\/strong>, <strong>Angelcorpse<\/strong>, <strong>Krisiun<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Centinex.\u00a0<\/strong>Guess we can be thankful there&#8217;s only a few of these obscure relics, right?<\/p>\n<p>Wrong. For some fucking reason these things were out of control during the late 90&#8217;s\/early 2000&#8217;s. Why? Were they financially rewarding to the labels\/bands? I don&#8217;t know. Maybe they were borne out of a need for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toiletovhell.com\/sunday-sesh-a-tribute-to-tribute-albums\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">easily obtainable, relatable, and palatable content<\/a>? Honestly, I don&#8217;t even really care. All I wanna hear is someone doing a version of a classic track and NOT ruining it. When compiling a tribute album of covers for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toiletovhell.com\/30-years-onreign-in-blood-is-still-fucking-garbage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our 30th anniversary tribute to\u00a0<strong>Slayer<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0<em>Reign In Blood<\/em><\/a>, I sifted through a tonne of B-grade horseshit in order to create a track-by-track playlist of just the 10 songs on that record. An experience where the <strong>reward<\/strong> <em>barely<\/em> justified the <strong>effort. <\/strong>However I figure with the countless hours of combined listening we as a community have no doubt amassed, we could save each other a shitload of time and share some of the memorable moments we&#8217;ve found on tribute albums throughout our time.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, the last tribute album I can even recall hearing about was that sprawling <strong>Summoning<\/strong> homage from a couple of years back which featured\u00a0<strong>Sojourner<\/strong>, <strong>Caladan Brood<\/strong>, <strong>Eldamar<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toiletovhell.com\/?s=mesarthim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Mesarthim<\/strong><\/a>, and a cabal of other caped celibates stretching from here to Hobbiton.
