Do you ever wake up in the morning and say to yourself –\u00a0I don’t really feel like listening to metal today<\/em>? ME FUCKING EITHER.<\/b>\u00a0That being said, every once in a while I do need to set aside some time for something a little more relaxing. And so should you (yes Conan, even you).\u00a0<\/p>\n Provided that the music doesn’t end up sucking, I’m a huge fan of one-off albums with the Metal dialed down to 0.\u00a0Opeth<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Damnation<\/em> springs to mind along with Agalloch<\/b>‘s\u00a0The White\u00a0<\/em>and other traditional-folky ventures like Ulver<\/b>‘s\u00a0Kveldssanger<\/em><\/a>, M\u00e5negarm<\/b>‘s forest sessions<\/a>, and\u00a0Fintroll<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Visor om<\/em> slutet<\/em><\/a>. Unfortunately, these albums generally fall short of getting the attention they deserve from the metal community, likely because\u00a0the focus is often placed on\u00a0acoustic instruments.<\/p>\n
