TAG DIVING: NATURE

I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?
Welcome back to Tag Diving, where I, your handsome host, Reliquary Tower, root through rhythmic refuse to reclaim rockin’ records, just as one might dig through a dumpster in pursuit of a perfectly pungent piece of a pear. Y’all ready? I sure am!
Thou – Heathen
Ohhhh let’s go, I get to talk about my favorite band this week! If you’d heard one Thou album start to finish, it’s probably this one. And honestly, that’s a good pick. Heathen has always struck me as their most atmospheric release. It really does feel like watching a city rot and be reclaimed by nature. It’s one of Thou’s few remaining records I don’t have a copy of, which I desperately need to fix. If you’re not scared of double albums, get out there and spin this thing!
Time Rift – In Flight
Hard rock/trad metal! Get your hard rock/trad metal! Groovy riffs and great vocals, hot off the presses! This week only, a little bit of wah pedal as a treat! Roldy, it has a bird on it, so don’t look the other way!
Spesia – Until the Roots Heal
Hope you’re ready to get crusty, because today’s final offering is a blackened crust/d-beat antifascist, environmentalist EP. Dual vocals, ambient passages, and tremolo picked riffs abound. Plus their shirts are cool!
Got woodsy metal you want to share? Do so down in that there comments section!
