Album Premiere: Narcotics Fueled Lesbian Orgy – Keyboard Warrior
Deathgrind that ain’t got no time to play with y’all.
Click play on Keyboard Warriors, the debut record from Narcotics Fueled Lesbian Orgy, and you’ll soon be blown away by the massive, world-destroying vocals of Samantha Smith. Perhaps you’ll recognize those insanely guttural lows from some of Slamantha’s other acts like Firehaven, Fight the Demiurge, and Guttural Slug. She’s back and her vocals are heavier than fuck and twice as brutal as before. It’s always a good sign when an album’s notes declare, “No pitch-modification was used anywhere on this record.”
Through 15 brief tracks of blistering deathgrind, Samantha unleashes a torrent of abuse at MAGA chuds and useless #Resistance libs, both currently raging a war on your Facebook post about a cool animal you saw. Lest you be tempted to lump the band in a disgusting beige box labeled “CENTRISM”, Samantha is, as she says, “A big time gay” and keenly aware of the violence the United States is perpetuating. This is a life-or-death situation and no amount of posturing on social media is gonna fix it. It’s time to get mad as hell and take action, not beg for retweets.
And mad as hell is an appropriate descriptor for this record. John Clock, who handles guitars, fires off riffage with blinding fury. Some of the highlights include:
-“Keyboard Warrior” starting off at 10 and then bringing that up to a 17 with a double time break at the end.
-The Suicidal Tendencies swing of “Insanity Plea”, offering a brief and funky pause in the grind maelstrom.
-An absolutely siqqq cyber grind drum break on “Keeping Up With the Joneses”.
-The chaos riffs throughout “Idiot Parade”
-“21st Century Death March” slamming staccato riffs that sound like they could fall apart at any second.
The pair met through URM Academy, a platform for learning to produce and engineer, and within months put together this album. Given how tight this package sounds, it was time well spent. Keyboard Warriors drops next week. Go pick it up on Bandcamp.
