Tech Death Thursday: Cesspool of Corruption – “Insidious Inheritance”
It’s a mighty fine day for new music.
I have it on good authority that everything is bigger in Texas, and it appears that tech death is no exception. Cesspool of Corruption have accordingly applied that ethos to their music; their previous EP, Eradication of the Subservient, was a solid technical take on The Black Dahlia Murder-style melodeath, but the track we’ve got for you today sees the band looking to bigger and better things. “Insidious Inheritance” is the first single from their upcoming album, Requiems of the Ignominious, and it sees the band going faster, harder, more aggressive, and more technical in all respects to what they did before. This is quintessential tech death, exactly the kind of music that comes to mind when I think about the genre, and it’s a great time. This should strongly appeal to fans of bands like Decrepit Birth and Ominous Ruin, especially if you like a more melodic twist on that style. Says the band about this song:
We couldn’t be more proud to announce our debut full length album, “Requiems of the Ignominious”, releasing via Gore House Productions. Many years of hard work and dedication went into the making of this album and we are excited for our fans, both old and new, to hear this material. It was a fairly arduous task, but despite that we managed to craft something we feel will truly standout amongst our peers and to our fans. This track, “Insidious Inheritance”, is one of the earliest tracks we wrote for this album. Lyrically, it is essentially about the inevitable death we all meet sooner or later. It’s the one thing we all “inherit” so to speak, and of course death itself always has a seemingly “insidious” nature to it. We hope that this track gives the listener just a taste of the evolution we’ve tried to capture moving onward from our last release, because we can’t wait for you all to hear the rest of what we have in store for you when Requiems of The Ignominious is released in its entirety.
Requiems of the Ignominious is out on August 6th on Gore House Productions. You can find Cesspool of Corruption on Facebook and Bandcamp.
