Choilet Chuesday, innit? This week is less of a hot slab of new releases and more of a cold saucer, but maybe there’s some fun stuff I’m overlooking. Check it out, and let us know if you find something interesting.
Warforged – The Grove | Almanac (The Artisan Era) [Prog Death]
Dare I hope? Warforged had me held fast in the nightmare talons of I: Voice, but that grip went entirely slack with The Grove | Sundial. The shift in vibe didn’t land with me at all, and the songwriting in general felt weaker than its predecessor. That said, I like what I’m hearing from this one; it hews closer to Sundial than to Voice, but it’s both a little tighter and a little weirder than the previous The Grove record. As it stands, I’m cautiously optimistic for this, and even if it fails to grab hold of me again, there still isn’t any band that does it quite like Warforged. It will be interesting at worst. 8/14/26 (Spear)
