Little reviews for big sounds.

you, infinite – you, infinite
Pelagic Records | February 28th, 2025
I got a special one for all of us who grew up on ambient post-rock. This Will Destroy You’s first two albums were formative for me back in 2008, and though I lost touch with the genre shortly after that, I was excited to dig back in with this release. you, infinite sees founding member Raymond Brown (who left after those two early albums) rejoin the current TWDY crew to create something new. The first few tracks lean into the ambient side of things, which had me pining for the occasional punchiness I was used to, but those moments show up later (especially in “Shrine Eternal”). There being just enough to pay attention to but still be super relaxing is what made Young Mountain the best album to fall asleep to if you had a wandering mind. you, infinite keeps with that tradition and is a must-listen for people who need audial stimulation to work. – Joaquin

Vordermann – Feeding on Flowers
Independent | March 3rd, 2025
I normally wouldn’t bother writing about a 17-minute EP, but these guys have something here. They blend a dreamy Pelican-ish post-rock with a Baroness-style proggy sludge and it works incredibly well. The two vocalists kill it on some gang chants and a hypnotic back-and-forth on “Delerium Tremors.” They also have an all-timer track name in “Saint Banger (The Lars Ulrich Torrent Finder General Drum Circle Experience)” which is basically just a good instru-post track until the awesome surprise ending. These tracks are super fun and I need more, now. – Joaquin

Dawn Of Ouroboros - Bioluminescence Prosthetic Records Dawn Of OuroborosBioluminescence
Prosthetic Records | March 7th, 2025

It’s difficult to put Dawn Of Ouroboros into a subgenre of metal. Not because they don’t fit in with, say, technical death metal or progressive metal or black metal, but because they’re so much better than most of what those genres have to offer. Bioluminescence is a triumph of skill, ability, creativity, and genuine talent. Each song on the album showcases what every member is capable giving them all time to shine brilliantly. There is depth in each moment, ranging from intricate instrumentation one moment to gorgeous soaring vocals to unrelenting blast beats and brutal growls. the next. Listening to Bioluminescence is a rewarding adventure as there’s always a new part to discover, absorb, and enjoy. Dawn Of Ouroboros light the way with this album and show all other bands how it should be done. – 365 Days Of Horror

Industrial Puke Suicide RecordsIndustrial PukeAlive To No Avail
Suicide Records | March 28th, 2025

Cannonball! That’s how I feel when listening to Industrial Puke. I want to take all my rage and frustration at this cruel, oppressive world, curl myself up into a tight little ball and fling myself into every fascist shithead I have to see and hear on a daily basis. Living on the crust edges of death metal and thrash, Alive To No Avail is a raised fist and a sharpened weapon against those in power who have a foot on the back of all of our necks. Guitars wail, drums pound, and Linus Jägerskog’s distinctive yell serve as catharsis, putting the worldwide descent into a proper sound. Energetic and full of piss and bile, each song rips with a fury known only by those who can see what’s really going on. Life is fucked, but Industrial Puke fucks right back. I’m old, I’m hurt, I’m tired, but when Alive To No Avail hits, I want to hit along with it. – 365 Days Of Horror
