Track Premiere: American Sharks – “Not Dead Yet”
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, a band comes along to shake you out of your brain fog. Austin, TX’s stoner punk rockers American Sharks are hitting the shallow waters once again with their new album Not Dead Yet. Combing the fuzzed-out style of Fu Manchu with the attitude and aggression of Zeke, the band has returned after 6 years to give us their title track, “Not Dead Yet.”
It’s got groove. It’s got meaning. Sorry, I just slipped into Grease for a second. What’s great about “Not Dead Yet” is that it maintains that stoner rock sound while adding a take-no-prisoners attitude. It’s fast. It has edge. The song gets in, makes a mess, and gets out, leaving only blood and chum in the water.
