Toilet Ov Hell are no strangers to Transcending Obscurity, and today we have one hell of a premiere from Greek black metal band Decipher.

“Penance” is off of the upcoming full-length Arcane Paths to Resurrection, dropping April 21 through Transcending Obscurity.

The song itself runs the gamut of black metal tropes, but comes out the other side feeling like a fresh interpretation of the genre It keeps a galloping pace throughout while breaking for the occasional melodic section, and even has a good OUGH in there for the die hard grunt fans. Everything’s well composed, performed, and mixed, and the result is a certified banger. Checking out the other songs that have been released so far shows even more solid work, and this is definitely a release to look forward to.
