I didn’t ask for this. A lot of you aren’t going to be happy, but the invisible hand has chosen our final four contestants. Who will emerge supreme?
Round Eight was the battle royale of upsets. Bands I would have banked on being shoe-ins for the grande finale (King Diamond, especially), have been ousted. In fact, this tournament is now exclusively the domain of progressive-leaning records, which is both oddly fitting and somehow infuriating. Whom will you choose in the midst of your blind rage? Cast your vote and rally your troops.
Remember, your goal is to not just choose the album you like the most, but to try to pick the album whose concept best fits the music. I don’t know if that’s what all you dad proggers are doing, but it should be. Be judicious as you cast your stones below.
