New year, same Toilet Tuesday. These early months tend to be pretty slow on new releases, but we’ve got a handful of interesting albums on the docket this week, which makes for a great change of pace from the typical start-of-year drag. It’s kind of weird to see a floaty, grungy post metal band on Willowtip’s roster, but we know those folks have good taste, and it should come as no surprise that this release holds a lot of promise. Seven Nines and Tens nails the perfect balance of riffs and atmosphere, of grit and serenity, and it gives this first single a hell of a vibe. It’s both chill and exciting, and I look forward to its full release. 1/7/22 (Spear)
