This week’s TTT is brought to you by being up for 24 hours straight for overnight work and copious amounts of coffee. As such I’m a little out of it, but thankfully, Karhu has stepped in to put a rec on your radar this week. Looking over the list myself and comparing to my Bandcamp wishlist, I apparently have added exactly nothing to it this time, so tell me what’s good down in the comments.
Plebeian Grandstand – Rien ne suffit (Debemur Morti Productions) [Noise/Black Metal]

Avant-garde black metal that either feels like BM, but sound like it, or sounds, but doesn’t feel like it. Swirling, technical dissonance and chaotic mathcore sliding into the electronic elements, more often pounding along to death industrial or power electronics than the melodic squeaks of the electro-metal trend (if it one anymore) or Full of Hell -styled flatbed of noise. Plebeian Grandstand breaks and bends conventions, traditions and genre-limitations into what they call the true meaning of ‘post-metal’, much like metaphysics was named so for being ‘the chapter after physics’, Rien ne suffit is the chapter after metal.
