It’s that most magical time of the week, that most Toilet of Tuesdays, and we’ve got a heap of new music for you to peruse. And there are some heavy hitters this week, too; Hans and Karhu highlight some of the best of the lot, but there’s also stuff from Esoctrilihum, Killitorous, Old Man Gloom, and a lot more. If this doesn’t generate as much hype as Blood Incantation did last year, I just might be a little mad at y’all. For those who listen to the wrong podcasts or have just plain forgotten about this: it’s dense, spacewards-looking death metal, consistently shape-shifting to evade the laser fire of its pursuers, yet not trying to shake them; every move it makes is impressive but not incomprehensible, no doubt geared towards luring you to its fetid lair. 5/22/20 (Hans)
Chepang – Chatta (Nerve Altar) [Grindcore]

The world’s finest Nepali grinders from the US are back and… Holy freejazzing fuck what the hell is that? Chepang’s sophomore is a curveball borne “from the ashes of the demented Barriga De Verme collaborative freestyle album with Test and Friends Chepang goes a step further to progress to release their Sophomore psychosis LP CHATTA.” And if the rest is as good as the opening duo, it’s gonna be the grind AOTY for the next few years. 5/22/20 (Karhu)
Ænigmatum – Adorned in Wrath (Independent) [Dissonant Black Metal]

Still somehow independent, Ænigmatum is keeping their debut’s “melodic dissonance with a tech-twist” edge intact, but add a more sinister undertone. Whereas on the debut the black metal influence was fine seasoning, here it’s been raised to greater prevalence. 5/22/20 (Karhu)
