This Toilet Tuesday (6/30/20)
Toilet Tuesday graces us once again, and I am MAD ONLINE. Bastards made me get up early for work today and then didn’t follow through on the meeting we were supposed to have. At least there are some sweet old=school-flavored death metal albums out this week, of which Karhu and I have featured a couple. Question – Reflections of the Void (Chaos Records) [Death Metal]

Lacertilian’s favourite modern Mexican death metal band is back with their sophomore (finally)! A band that used to share “Nucleus’ affinity for Adramelech-style riffing, and Tomb Mold‘s surreal single note tone-twisters, interspersed with bouts of blunt chord trauma” and nothing has changed in that regard, except for all the things that have, which is to say that the songs are different and not the same. But you shouldn’t care, you should listen. 7/3/20 (Karhu)
Grace Disgraced – Immortech (Metalism Records) [Prog Death]

If Question isn’t enough big boy death metal for you, try Grace Disgraced on. They wear their Death influence proudly on their sleeves, but take it in a more melodic death metal kind of direction, giving it a more down-to-earth feel than other Death-worship bands like Contrarian. While this isn’t my personal favorite style of prog death, it’s hard to argue with the strength of these riffs, and it’s already earned a couple listens from me. 6/30/20 (Spear)
