Flush It Fiadhay: More Tunes from Fiadh Productions!

Share:

Because I can.

It’s Friday, baby. As of Wednesday, I’m no longer an employee of the place where I’ve been since 2011. As of Thursday, I’m an employee of a place I’ve long wanted to be. I’m still doing my old job, though. I’m going to be double-jobbin’ it for, probably, the rest of the year. Oh well. More money to buy tapes from Fiadh Productions.

This post was going to build on last week’s Bad Religion dive but focused on Propagandhi. Let’s do that next week. I haven’t quite found what I want to say; or, rather, I’m not sure what my angle is other than: fuck, Propagandhi is and always has been not only awesome but fuckin’ prophetic. More on that later.

For this Friday, before we get to flushin’, we’re gonna do a quick-hitter on five more recent releases from Fiadh. 50 words apiece this time. Talk about itty bitty ditty committees!

Beaver Mosh x Fiadh Productions – Riffs for Palestine
July 29, 2024 | Digital Only

Last week, Aaron surveyed briefly Love Songs, a Palestinian fundraising compilation as curated by Mother Anxiety. In a similar vein, Beaver Mosh has teamed up with Fiadh Productions to release this digital-only compilation to support the Palestine Red Crescent Society (palestinercs.org). Some bands even overlap! Lots of weirdness on here.

Wyoming Toad – Mud Devil
July 19, 2024 | Brown Swirl-shelled cassette

While I’m most familiar with the forest synth sounds of earlier work, Mud Devil is a cavalcade of genres, hellbending its way through torrential industrial, synth-driven black metal, mournful doom, spacious ambient, and a crushing sense of our impending ecological doom. All proceeds to Center for Biological Diversity… and toads!

Gwenwyn – Elfshot
June 20, 2024 | Magnolia-shelled cassette

I was going to say we don’t judge books by covers… but we do every day. A neoclassic-inclined fantasy synth adventure from Welsh artist Asenath Blake—this arrow-shot of a record is a heady mix of synths, strings, wistful evenings, starry nights, dewy mornings, traveling adventures, and knowing, otherworldly reverence.

The Floating World – Impermanence
June 28, 2024 | 6-panel slim wallet CDr

This is the kind of dark ambient that might set your teeth on edge—more Cryo Chamber than Past Inside the Present. My first contact with this Detroit project, and I’m clenched for more. Thick, swirling masses of soft noise engulf the listener, creating an immensely pleasant if disquieting experience.

Gamgee the Brave – Gamgee the Brave
June 21, 2024 | White-shelled cassette

The Colorado collective We Are Mage, featuring the talents of the Long Enchanter and the Rotund Spellcaster, turn their synths to our pluckiest of hobbit heroes with an enchanting blend of softness, wonder, playfulness, and charm. Surely by the end of the day, the two remaining cassettes will be purchased.

What fun, what fun! So tap play on one of the records above and let’s flush!

We cherish, love, admire, and respect the tireless efforts of Stick and Owl every Monday and Tuesday and every other day of the week for that matter.

Aaron handed out 4 whole Toilets to the new Uboa. Great stuff as always.

Review: Uboa – Impossible Light

Toilet Radio 509 from Joe n Jordan, but I’m miffed over some choices they made about Dark Descent on the Patreon Pod. Go sign up so you can hear and be mad, too.

Toilet Radio 509 – The 666th Olympiad

“There will be Entropyyyyyy!” Wait, I thought we were done talking Bad Religion? Oh! Hans awakens from his Teutonic slumber to bring us a great video from lovers of both the 1890s and 1990s Entropy. Rad stuff.

Video Premiere: Entropy – “Americans Will Save You (In the End)”

Oooh baby, baby! We got some tasty morsels from Spear, Joaquin Stick, Prof. Guanaco, Reliquary Tower, and 365. All sorts of delectables to sample.

That’s the week in Toileteering, my Toileteers! Go back through this week’s posts and share your thoughts with the authors. Join in the fun! That’s why we’re here: to have fun and chat about music nobody else gives a shit about. And not like in a cool way? Like in the way that we’re all just dweebs, dweebin’ out together, over some pretty cool shit. I’m going to the beach for a week. Hugs and kisses, my non-beach going goons. Drop those GBUs before I forget!
