What mysteries lurk within this post? OH SHIT, don’t read the headline!

OG Doomlords Pentagram have a brand-spanking-new record dropping Friday! It’s called Curious Volume and thanks to Noisey, you can listen to it in full right the fuck now! This album contains a batch of new songs in addition to older stuff recorded way back in the 70s. How did Bobby Liebling and co. do? Judge away!

Pentagram is on tour soon. You should go see them. I have, and I’m a massive poser. Don’t let me get more kvlt points than you.

Shoegaze/black metal band and continued source of assdevastation for whiners, Deafheaven have released the first single from their upcoming third LP New Bermuda. It’s called “Brought to the Water” and y’know what? This shit is FIRE. Acclaimed Metal Vocalist George Clarke and crew have really stepped up their game. Even the most hardened IMN can’t deny the thrash riff that comes in around 1:20. Don’t get too worried that the band has become TRVE, the song still goes off into major key territory (with, uh, a couple of riffs that sound like “Kiss Me”), so the band hasn’t completely reinvented themselves. But I’m now fully looking forward to this record.

So this is surprising! Early-90s rock artifact and winners of Beavis & Butthead approval, Ugly Kid Joe will be releasing a new album on October 16th. Founders and excellently named dudes Whitfield Crane and Klaus Eichstadt recorded the record with a cast of characters including Shannon Larkin of Godsmack and Sonny Mayo of Sevendust. The record will be called Uglier Than They Used to Be, a nod to their previous work As Ugly As They Wanna Be (which was at one point, the highest selling EP of time).

To be totally honest, I’m only posting this news as an excuse to share this awesome dad singing an Ugly Kid Joe song to his neighbors. Oh dad!
