“Boo hoo, Necrophagist / Tool / [insert other overrated band here] are never going to release new music. I might as well just curl up into a ball and soak in a pool of my own urine. Nothing will console me. Life isn’t worth living.” Get over it, you fucking wimp. New music comes out every day. And you know what? Sometimes it even doesn’t suck that much.

____________

I know there are more than a few Leprous fans in the house, and I know they’ve all got jealousy shooting out of their ears knowing that W. has been jamming a promo of The Congregation, the upcoming followup to the Norwegian progressive metal dude’s last album in 2013. Don’t you just want to wring his presidential neck? Here’s some news that might ease the pain – they just debuted a new song for the filthy, promo-less commoners (that’s you!). It’s called “The Price”, and it’s real good. W. assures us all that the whole album is similarly real good. After hearing this, I’m inclined to believe him. It drops on May 25th via InsideOut Music.

____________

More people ought to know about Satan’s Wrath and their blackthrashing expertise. For the uninitiated, they’re one of the best/only bands worth listening to on Metal Blade Records, and they just released a new track called “A Mindless Servant of Satan” from their upcoming album, Die Evil (May 5th). Two days ago, I, Tyree, and Simon Phoenix all fully agreed with the following statement from the latter:

Dude this song fucking rips.

Amen and amen.

____________

All I know about Tempel is that they’re from Arizona, they’re instrumental, the album cover for their new album rules, and they either can’t spell temple correctly or refuse to spell temple correctly. The Moon Lit Our Path drops on June 16th via Prosthetic Records. Here’s a little teaser for if you’re into that sort of thing. The last ten seconds sound… potentially promising. And doomy.

____________

Entrails copied the shit out of Entombed‘s logo (See? I made that.). Does it bother me? Not at all. Let me tell you why. It tells me exactly what to expect from the band, and it just so happens that it’s telling me to expect something that tends to make me very aroused – old school Swedish death metal. Entrails have released three crushing full-lengths since 2010, and the fourth (Obliteration) is set for release on May 19th. Listen to “Beyond the Flesh” below and get your skulls crushed into smaller pieces of skull.

____________

Last time, somebody in the comments said that Sigh doesn’t make weird music. To that person I say, “what lol.” If you missed the first single from the new album Graveward (which will be released on May 4th), go check it out. If you’re all caught up, listen to second single, “Kaedit Nos Pestis”. This one features the usual weirdness, some downright fist-pumping riffs, ripping solos, and a way-too-fucking-catchy clean-sung chorus. I like it more than “Out of the Grave”, and I’m really, really looking forward to the rest of this album.

____________

A few more things:

  • Hell’s Headbangers Records released their 8th free compilation, and it’s just full of killer songs.
  • For the very, very few who were into my Dungeon Synth postErang just released his newest album, which you can stream in full at his Bandcamp.
  • CVLT Nation is hosting a full stream of the new MTHR EP here.
