Cry havoc and let slip the crabs of war

It seems like just yesterday that Dubya was extolling the virtues of the of Warcrab and the leaden weight of their sludge-encrusted death metal, and now the UK boys are back with a new album. While we’re still a ways out from its August release, we can whet your appetite with a brand spankin’ new song courtesy of Transcending Obscurity. It’s a monster of a tune, too, so let’s get right to it.

“Halo of Flies” is as grim and grimy as its name suggests. It kicks off with a big doomy riff that really lets that dirty guitar tone seep into your bones, settling shortly thereafter into a headbanging groove that opens up space for the drums and vocals to unleash their filth. As it ramps up in intensity, the song bursts into a vicious death metal riff that rumbles on until its massive finish. Part Eyehategod, part Bolt Thrower, this ragin’ crustacean can do some damage.

Damned in Endless Night releases August 30th via Transcending Obscurity. Head over to Warcrab’s Bandcamp to hear more.
