Review: IntöxicatedSadistic Nightmares

When Intöxicated first landed in my inbox I noticed two things. Firstly, the artwork is probably some of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s like the cover of an ’80s horror VHS tape, and you don’t know if the movie is gonna be any good until you get it home from the video store. Second, I noticed the band had an umlaut in their name, which generally meant it was gonna be a pain in the ass to type. Well this record was so good I had to look it up. It’s Alt 0246. I might forget that before the day is through, but I’m definitely not gonna forget this album any time soon. Sadistic Nightmares is a thrash ‘n roll winner through and through.

As a warning, this is probably not the kind of music you should listen to while driving. You’re gonna get a speeding ticket. Already have a few? Well then prepare to have your license suspended. If that seems concerning, don’t worry too much. A friend once gave me some great advice, “They can’t suspend your license if it’s already suspended!” Okay sure, that friend is probably in jail now, but I just want to prepare y’all. If these riffs don’t make you want to put the pedal to the metal then nothing will. Since Intöxicated is from Germany, you can always tell the cop you thought you were on the Autobahn. I doubt it will work, but it’s certainly worth a shot.

Purchase of this album should really come with a leather jacket, a muscle car with too many horsepower, and some aviator sunglasses you can wear 24/7. In true ’80s fashion, this album is also getting a release on cassette tape via Ironbound Records. The whole album dropped May 5th. So even though I’m a bit behind the times with this review, you can go listen to the whole thing right now. If it doesn’t get you moving, you’re probably dead…or maybe just not very cool.

Sadistic Nightmares is out now via MDD Records.
