The Morning Press: Hammerfall, Soilwork, Gnaw Their Tongues And More
All the news that’s fit to copy and paste.
Check out this lineup for Netherlands Deathfest 2017 and then change your pants. Lots of Toilet Ov Hell faves on this one. Still, it doesn’t compare to the revamped MDF lineup. How bizarre!
Hammerfall fans will get the chance to raise their swords high as the band has booked a winter tour across Europe.
Trivium will be touring the US with Sabaton and Huntress starting this September.
Scar Symmetry will also be touring the US in September along with Arsis, Shattered Sun, and Painted In Exile. I had never heard of Painted in Exile before and decided to give them a listen. After listening to this song, I can definitively say “yeah, nah.”
Israel’s Orphaned Land will be doing a month-long tour this November in Europe along with Voodoo Kungfu, Imperial Age, and Crisalida.
Meshuggah will be touring North America starting in October with direct support from High On Fire.
Drummer Dirk Verbeuren has left Soilwork to join the musician revolving door known as Megadeth full time. Verbeuren had this to say about his decision:
“They say the biggest decisions in life are the hardest to make. This decision falls under that category. As a drummer I’ve always enjoyed the evolution of my path. The past twelve years with Soilwork have been incredible, a portion of my life I honor with pride. When I was approached to join Megadeth– a childhood dream come true and something I never anticipated- I was beyond excited to even consider the realm of possibility. But truth be told, I couldn’t have rightfully made this step without the support and blessing of my Soilwork family.
For that I owe a huge thank you to Bjorn, Sven, David, Sylvain and Markus. You have allowed me to see what lies ahead, and you’re my brothers in metal. Chris Adler, thank you for introducing me to Megadeth and for your encouragement and support. Dave, David and Kiko, I’m thankful for your warm welcome and thrilled to perform and create badass music with you guys. To the fans, this is a new chapter for us; I hope we can enjoy this ride together!”
Dark Tranquillity‘s next album Atoma will be released on November 4th, 2016 via Century Media Records. They will be touring the US with Swallow The Sun, Enforcer, and Starkiller this coming winter with plans to hit Europe in 2017. Take a look at the album’s artwork:

Professional weedily deediliers Allegaeon have a new 8 minute song out called “Gray Matter Mechanics – Appassionata Ex Machinea.” If play-throughs are your thing, watch the video below to learn just how it is done.
White man from the suburbs Phil Labonte is still an idiot, retweeting this:
Phildo also gave an interview to the NRA’s Shooting Illustrated magazine. Read about him moving to New Hampshire to be with his one true love. If you don’t want to read about him gushing over weaponry, just enjoy this picture of his tattoos that would make Ayn Rand dry hump a bald eagle.
