This Toilet Not Tuesday (7/6/22)
Never mind that things got all fucky thanks to the holiday; it’s still Tuesday in our hearts. As such, we’ve got all this week’s new releases right here for your convenience and/or despair at bloating your Bandcamp wishlists even further. Torturized – Aftermath (Apostasy Records) [Death Metal]

I should have learned long ago not to judge a book by its cover, or a band by its name in this case. The moniker “Torturized” conjures sounds of a D-tier Municipal Waste knockoff or forgotten mid ’90’s industrial act, but the reality is that they’re a seasoned death metal band with a super slick sound. The combination of speed and dismal mood alongside some light electronics calls to mind the last Fractal Generator album, albeit more melodic. It’s a thoroughly modern-sounding record in both writing and production, and it’s much more refined than a lot of the other stuff playing this field. Very promising album. 7/8/22 (Spear)
