This Toilet Tuesday (1/6/26)

O Bellwether Bowl, O Herald ov Hemorrhoids, may our visitations be regular and productive in the year of our Latrine, MMXXVI. This week, we’ve got the better of the “to prevail” bands, a sub’s worst nightmare, and Napalm “comedy.” Folks, it’s a shallow first week of the new year, but there’s more than a few tasty morsels for the stupid bravest among us. As always, let us know what we missed in the comments!

KadavriK – Erde 666 (Independent) [Prog Black / Sludge / Doom]
From the first moments of “Erde 666,” KadavriK displays contempt for genre norms; I can’t tell if I’m listening to Eyehategod or The Who, and that’s before the blackened vocals surface. The inclusion of e-pianos like the Rhodes (“Das Ende des Anthropozäns“) recalls the lush atmospherics of Klabautamann, and there’s a captivating push/pull between sections of airy, ’70s prog rock and acerbic walls of sound that keeps these epic-length tracks from stagnating. Much of the album will remain a mystery until Friday, and I suspect we’ve only scratched the surface of what Erde 666 has to offer. -Roldy
