Spooky season continues to pile on the new metal music, and I’m here to bring it all to you. This is another loaded week, and I’ve not had the time to give a lot of this the attention it deserves. I’ve picked out a solid jam that might have otherwise slipped your notice, but there’s a lot down in the bigger list to listen to. Give those a shot and report back.
Katharos XIII – Palindrome (Loud Rage Music) [Saxy Metal]

I don’t know what you call this, but it’s spooky and saxy and I like it. Sort of a mix of post, doom, jazz, and depressive black metal, Palindrome is both tense and ethereal, and its dark ambiance sets the stage for some of the best use of saxophone in metal.
