FLUSH IT FRIDAY: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Felicitations flatulators!

Iron Goddess of Mercy is out this week, so it looks like you’re stuck with me. Last any of us heard, he was on the run from the CDC for refusing to get his Chronic Nut Rash under control. They say that he’s a public health crisis waiting to happen, but personally I hope they never find him. Live and let live, I always say. Stay safe out there IGoM!

Are you sick to death of black metal? I know I am! I mean, who can stand it? Dissonant tremolo picking, horrible production, and dudes who sound like they need a lozenge?? That’s the best metal has to offer? Disgusting! We try to keep it classy around these crapper-coded corridors. Let’s talk jazz.

When I was a young French horn-playing middle-schooler, my band teacher was a trumpet player. For whatever reason, the thing that seemed to astonish him the most was videos of people playing as high as they could. A whole school year of ear-splitting notes put 11-year-old RT off from trumpet-based jazz for longer than he’d like to admit. Around the age of 19, though, Takuya Kuroda came along and changed that.

Kuroda’s sound has a sort of post-bop-meets-afrobeat feel that I simply cannot get tired of. Combine that with a little bit of Caseopea’s Mario Kart-sounding jazz fusion and you’ve cooked up a recipe that is absolutely unbeatable. I started with Zigzagger when I first jumped in, but there really is no wrong place to start. His newest album, Everyday, released on February 28th and has been in constant rotation for me since. I’m not making any promises, but I’ve got a strong feeling you’ll be hearing about this record again sometime in December.

Alright, enough of that pretentious high-class posturing! Let’s make like a tree and flush!

TMP and TTT, both beloved by you and me!

IGoM manages to find the time to premier a track from Crypts of Despair amid his fugitive fiasco:

Joe and Jordan talk about our nation’s market mastermind and how his tariffs could impact the price of music equipment (if/when they happen). Seriously, write to your representatives. Get out and protest. If not for me, then for those poor penguins.

Rolderathis waxes poetic in his stellar review of the new Chaos Inception:

The almighty Brock Samson blesses our bowl with RIFFS. Only the stankiest of the jankiest ’round these parts!

Metal Aged Mom caves to the Woke Mob with a new edition of DEI metal. We don’t receive funding as is, so Elon can’t touch this one!

Our sentence-slinging sweetheart Falxifer fires off a review of the upcoming Candlemass:

Check out this Undergang show review and photography from the Bowl’s newest contributor, Adam Schwartz! Say ‘Hello’ in the comments or else!

Looks like that’s it for this week! Thanks for sticking around and be sure to catch up on anything you might have missed. Peace and love, but only if you post GBUs!

G: Seeing Spiritbox and Loathe tonight! Plus tariff delays? I guess?

B: The fact that this wiener keeps trying to pass them in the first place.

U: The amount I’ve spent on records lately. Goodness, I need to reign it in.
