In a world of –ments, –itys, and –ectomys, Insect Inside have taken the bold step of using words known outside medical journals for both band name and album title; you may feel this bodes ill for the quality of slams to come, but don’t hurt yourself rubbing those 2 neurons together, honey the preview tracks from Reborn in Blight will quickly burrow in and hollow out all doubt. From the protuberant basslines of “Fragments” to the heartworming duet between Ivan Tyulkin and guest vocalist Josh Welshman (Defeated Sanity) in “Hiveborn Abomination,” the band has a knack for creating standout moments within a genre not typically known for memorability.
