News: Cryptopsy, Slugdge, Varathron, Intronaut And More
There’s news here, man.
Down Among The Dead Men, an excellent, crusty death metal ‘n d-beat band featuring Dave Ingram (ex-Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower and Church of Satan – apparently) and Rogga Johansson (every band ever) with Dennis Blomberg (Paganizer) and a drummer (most likely Matthias Fiebig) will be releasing their sophomore full length, called (REVENGE-inspiredly?) Exterminate! Annihilate! Destroy!, on 6th of November. Here you can view the art of their split with MISEO (just because you missed it, you can order it from the same link), also released this year, and E! A! D!’s art can be seen below. It is the work of one Turkka Rantanen. Two of the album’s fourteen songs are covers, namely Anvil’s “Forged In Fire” featuring Kam Lee (Mantas/Death, Massacre, a multitude of bands with Rogga) and Discharge’s “Protest & Survive”.
Remember when I reported that Cryptopsy had faced problems funding their Tome Of Suffering – series of Eps? They’ve triumphed despite the circumstances, and Book 1 will see the light of day on October 30th. They’re releasing a video for “Detritus (The One They Kept)” on Sep 25th today. The Book of Suffering Tome 1 was produced by Chris Donaldson at The Grid studio in Montreal, mixed by Jason Suecoff at Audiohammer Studio and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. See cover art here and check tour dates here.
