FLUSH IT FRIDAY: FRIGHT NIGHT AND FILM GRAIN

Pleasant crappings, pipe cloggers!

IGoM’s had an itchy buttcrack lately and scratched his fingernails down to the nubs, so typing’s a little painful for him right now. That means you’re stuck with me again. I know, it’s not what you were hoping for, but hopefully I can introduce you to something that will (at least partially) make up for it. Lemme tell you about Sleepaway Camp.

In the spirit of the season, I’ve been watching an awful lot of horror movies lately. There’s something special to me about ’80s slashers that I just can’t get enough of. The plots fit on a napkin, the acting’s usually pretty bad, the dialogue feels like it came from the dollar store, and I adore the look of film grain. One of the ones I’ve enjoyed the most has been Sleepaway Camp.

It’s a bit of a tough one to describe without giving away too much, but it’s something of a classic whodunnit story taking place at a summer camp, as person after person is slowly picked off. It’s got a lot of charm, some really creative kills, and perhaps most importantly, a super sick poster. The sequels, I’ve heard, are pretty bad though, and so far—having only seen the first sequel—I can confirm. But hey, at the very least, they’d make for some fun goregrind lyrics!

But that’s enough from me! Let’s get some flushing done!

A thousand thank-you’s to Stick and Roldy for TMP and TTT respectively!
