Premiere: Imperishable – “Revelation in Purity”

Death metal without an expiration date.
One could be forgiven for mistakenly thinking Imperishable is Italian given how fast they go, but this fledgling death metal act nests in the barren wastes of South Carolina. To be clear, the band is a “fledgling” act only insofar as this band is a new project. Each of its members has been around the block a few times, featuring bassist Alex Rush of Enthean and Olkoth; guitarist and frontman Brian Kingsland, also of Enthean and some small indie act called “Nile;” and Derek Roddy, who has played drums for approximately 600 different bands. These guys are veterans, and they’re damn good at what they do- as such, I am very excited to present their second single and title track from their upcoming album, Revelation in Purity.
Given that pedigree, you’ll have a reasonable idea of what to expect from this. The trio’s work in “Revelation in Purity” isn’t as technical or noodly as what you’d get from Enthean or Nile, but it more than makes up for that in speed and ferocity. It’s a near-perpetual stream of of blastbeats and tremolo riffs topped with Kingsland’s crunchy vocals, drawing some of its melodic ideas from the barbaric end of the black metal spectrum. It’s a straight-to-the-point neck breaker of a song, so clear some mosh space and jam it now.
Revelation in Purity releases on August 29th via Everlasting Spew (may their bile pool ever around our ankles).
