This Toilet Tuesday (1/1/19)
Welcome to the first Toilet Tuesday of 2019! We’ve got a fairly small list for you this week; I’d typically add stuff in from Christmas week here, but quite literally everything I could find that came out last week (with the exception of the Japanese release of Eternity’s End) was either a reissue or NSBM. Smaller doesn’t necessarily mean worse, though, and there are a couple solid releases on the way. Check out our picks and nurse that new year hangover in the comments.

Veldes brought me my first jam of 2019 with “Keeper of the Flameless,” and I’d say it’s a pretty solid way to start a year of listening. Crispy melodic black metal with a bit of Sojourner-style keys is always a good time, and the melodies and overall texture remind me of the first Wintersun album in all the best ways. Very much looking forward to the rest of this one. 1/4/19 (Spear)
