Stabbing – Extirpated Mortal Process (Comatose Music) [Brutal Death Metal]
It’s been a minute since I really got hyped for some brutal death metal, but Stabbing are really doing it for me. It’s nothing new or mind-blowing, but the execution is damn near perfect. In a genre about excess, a little restraint goes a long way; it’s chaotic but controlled, with a strong sense of pacing and a surprising amount of hooks. If you like your death metal nasty and garish, you’ll want this on your radar. 12/9/22 (Spear)
