Decapitated meets BTBAM is probably not a sound that many people are clamoring to hear- myself included- but that’s the best way I can describe Abstracted, and it somehow kinda works? The technical, disjointed riffing evokes the styles of each of the aforementioned acts, and there’s a heaping helping of capital-P Prog Metal™ stuff happening here too with the synths and the clean guitar break. This is definitely not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m curious to see how the final product shapes up. 4/15/22 (Spear)
