That genre tag up there is about as ambiguous as it gets these days, so let me clarify by saying Screaming Banshee seems to be going for the “big brain but still pretty fun” kind of sound. “The Missing One” is a combination of uptempo Death and mid-tempo Beyond Creation, a blend of thrash and more ponderous, exploratory prog riffing that work great in tandem. It’s good enough that I dropped a preorder on it already, so I hope the rest of the album is this good or this whole thing is gonna be real fuckin’ embarrassing. 4/30/21 (Spear)
