This Toilet Tuesday (8/6/19)
It’s Toilet Tuesday once more, and we’ve got a big ol’ pile of jams for you to check out. I haven’t had much time to peruse everything very thoroughly this week, but beyond the highlighted release, there are at least a couple solid brutal death metal albums on the way if you’re into that sort of thing. Otherwise, help me pick up the slack and share some other good new stuff in the comments.
Horseburner – The Thief (Ripple Music) [Doom]

I’m not typically into self-described stoner doom/heavy pscyh bands, but, well, there’s a reason we voted Horseburner as the best unsigned band in West Virginia. While their unsigned status has changed in the years since that competition, their ability to write simple but compelling music has remained. Between the fuzzed-out chords into watery cleans on “Hand of Gold, Man of Stone” and that absolutely perfect vibrato on the leads in “The Thief,” I’m totally sold on this. 8/9/19 (Spear)
