Weekly Releases (2/15/23)
Friends, this week of releases is bullshit and not really by fault of any of the bands on the list today (except maybe Avatar). I’ve been doing this shit for almost a decade now, and I can’t remember a list I’ve put together where I’ve had to cull more fascist bands than this one. It was discouraging enough that I more or less gave up on filtering through the rest of it; as such, there’s a bunch of stuff I know I missed, but I’m fucking tired. Hellripper – Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags (Peaceville Records) [Black/Thrash/Speed Metal]
Hellripper is a shining beacon in a week of miserable garbage. Over-the-top shreds and sublime riffs with lyrics about wizards and shit? Count me the fuck in. If ludicrous speed and flashy guitar is your thing, check this out immediately. Suffice to say that it rips most hellishly. 2/17/23 (Spear)
