This Toilet Tuesday (11/12/19)
It’s that most wonderful time of the week again, and we’ve got a good-ass lineup of new tunes for you to check out. There’s not a ton of big names on the list this week, but there’s some solid new releases nonetheless. Check out those highlighted releases and tell us what else is good down below.
Krater – Venenare (Eisenwald) [Black Metal]

I don’t find myself listening to a whole lot of vanilla black metal these days, but the sung opening to “Stellar Sparks” caught my attention immediately. The rest of the song followed up on that initial promise with some fierce riffing with actual substance and nuance, quality leads, and a reprise of those clean vocals near the end. I’m very much a fan of what Krater has going on here, and I’m looking forward to hearing if they can keep up that level of quality for the whole album 11/15/19 (Spear)
Evil Spectrum/Uttertomb – Heic Noenum Pax (split- Independent) [Death Metal]
Stream
Vanilla death metal, on the other hand, has been my go-to jam when I’m not mainlining tech death. The Evil Spectrum side of the split leans a little towards thrash, and the Uttertomb goes in a more doomy direction, but it’s all good. Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid listen end to end. 11/10/19 (Spear)
