Fuck, what a week. From getting my ass beat at work to getting my ass beat at a tech death show last night, it’s been a whole lot of pain (though waking up sore from a show is never really the worst feeling). Thankfully, I’ve got Roldy to help compile these lists, and the rest of the Toilet crew held down the fort while I was failing to do my editorial duties. Metasphæra – Metasphæra (Independent) [Tech Death]
Imagine Obscura wrote Diminishing Between Worlds and you’d have something pretty close to Metasphæra. These folks play some mighty weedly tech death with a very mercurial structure, real big brain shit for people who live and die by the riff. As one would hope from this type of music, there is a direction to the madness, so even with all the time and tempo changes, it never really feels clunky- just weird, and we love our shit weird. 3/24/23 (Spear)
