Premiere: Nattmaran – Beauty In Chaos
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Heavy metal has lots of styles and sounds deeply connected to certain regions and countries. Norway has it’s style of black metal. The UK has the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Boston has guys with no necks punching you in the back of the head-core. It’s all snapshots in time and location that spring forth some of our most influential and enduring sounds. So what happens when you have a band with members from Sweden, Indonesia, and Japan? You get Nattmaran.
The international group have come together to smack us in the face with their new song Beauty In Chaos off their upcoming album The Lurking Evil. It’s full of speed, aggression, and thrash ‘n’ roll goodness. Literally. It makes me want to curl up in a ball and do never-ending somersaults. Listening to “Beauty In Chaos” is like getting in those giant Atlasphere metal cages from the old Gladiators television show and running into rush hour traffic.
Guitarist/Bassist Michael Lang says,
[Beauty in Chaos] is an effective piece of thrashy old school metal with a lot of rock ‘n’ roll in it. No compromises, not a second wasted. Lyrically, it’s about an airstrike during World War II. Chaos in the air, chaos on the ground. Top that off with a slide solo and an ending that’s a nod to the gods of the 70’s.
Bombs away and let’s click play.
The Lurking Evil is out on September 3rd, 2021 via Wise Blood Records. Pre-order the album here.
