Today, we’re bringing you only the finest of Italian death metal.

While that song title and cover art might suggest a nod towards the early 90’s Finnish death metal scene, Quantum Hierarchy’s sound is of a more tempestuous bent. “Mausoleum of Eternal Absence” is monstrous, mixing the methodical pummeling of Morbid Angel with the rabid intensity of Myrkskog. The dissonant chords and frantic tremolo picking might seem chaotic at first blush, but the band maintains an almost frightening level of control over it. This foundation of raw speed and aggression makes the half-time riffs hit that much harder; combined with the masterful studio touch of Carlo Altobelli (who worked on the recent Hellish God and Birdflesh releases), you get death metal of considerable girth.

In short, it fucking crushes. Jam it right here:

Neutron Breed is out on March 30th through Everlasting Spew Records, who will include a CD copy of it with any purchases over €15; a pretty damn solid deal if I do say so myself. You can also pick it up digitally on Bandcamp (where you can also hear another track) and follow the band right here.
