Last week we wanted riffs from bands you’re anticipating a release from in 2020. While there might not be any official info about a new album from our fave sluggy lads in Slugdge, it didn’t stop about 30% of you getting your hype hogs hard as hell.

S.H.O.U.T. – ‘The Monster Under Your Bed’ (Riff @ 0:00)
S.H.O.U.T. is a Finnish band with a song that features “Monster” in the title. I think there’s two whole riffs in the song, so I’m submitting the first one. Or that guitar solo. Just listen the damn song, ok? I promise this band will become your new favorite. Each of their digital albums cost 10 euros on BandCamp.

What this riff becomes at 3:30 is the real smog monster. <3<3<3

Coagulate -“Beneath Cruciform Hills” (Riff @ 1:56)
Not only does Minnesota rank highly across various health, standard of living, and wellbeing indices, it also churns out some bangin’ death metal. Coagulate is a brand-spanking-new death metal band from the Twin Cities (note: whether there are actually two separate, distinct cities is up for debate) whose debut demo is about monsters. Specifically interdimensional vampires that team up with the KGB in a bid to takeover Earth, or something. Some real nerd shit. It whips. Go buy it.

Is this a great riff? No. But the guitarist behind it has the best stage name I’ve ever witnessed: ‘Jabba the Cunt’

Daikaiju – ‘Spiral Serpent Strike’ (Riff @ 0:00)
Been hot as hell here the last week or so and that means it’s been time to bust out what is probably my fave compilation album in recent memory. There are over 20 tracks on here and essentially all of them are fun as hell. This one fits the theme best so have at it.
