This Toilet Tuesday (1/3/17)
Welcome to the first Toilet Tuesday of 2017! Last year was excellent for extreme metal, and I’m looking forward to what this year will bring in the music world. This week’s offerings are somewhat slim, but there’s some good jams to be had. W. and I have picked out a couple standouts; let us know if there are more that deserve to be heard!

Funeral doom with a deeply reverent, almost religious fervor that manages to inspire both awe and terror? Sign me up! Sure, the riffs aren’t breaking any new ground out back in the cemetery, but that combo of plodding menace and blustering keys sure does the trick. Funeral heads will be sold after one grizzly psalm. If I’m being completely honest here, I haven’t even listened to all of this yet. Just look at those song titles and tell me you don’t want to party with these dudes, though. It’s the best sort of stupid, and the music is pretty good; surprisingly so, in fact. It’s big and beefy, and I’m a fan of the punky vocal approach.
