Humanotone – A Flourishing Fall in a Grain of Sand (Independent) [Prog Doom]

Every time I come across a self-described stoner doom artist like this, I have to shake my head a little. Buddy, you can’t be stoner doom; you’re actually good at music. “Light Antilogies” has serious chops, with beautifully fluid riffing, catchy hooks, and a sense of pacing that keeps the track from feeling as long as it is. The vocals have a smoky Brann Dailor tone to them, enhanced by productions elements that give the music an airy, drifting feel. It’s good shit, and I hope the rest of the album keeps that momentum. 3/11/22 (Spear)
