Defacement came out of fucking nowhere and laid waste to everything with their debut in 2019, and I’ve been craving more since. And more we shall receive, as their self-titled followup releases this week. If simply seeing the name I, Voidhanger attached to this isn’t enough of a testament to both its weirdness and its quality, there are two tracks up for your perusal, and rest assured they go hard. This is some immensely cool shit, and it sounds like the band is easily sidestepping the sophomore slump on this. 9/3/21 (Spear)
