Toilet Radio 651 – My Best Friend is a Vampire
This week on Toilet Radio: We’re watching a very well-forgotten 80s horror comedy, My Best Friend is a Vampire! Featuring Kathy Bates, Rene Auberjonois, Fannie Flagg (of Fried Green Tomatoes fame), and literally no one else you’ve ever heard of, this film is surprising in a variety of ways. Despite the presumably low budget, My Best Friend is a Vampire features like five different car chase scenes that rival The French Connection for palpable danger. The film is also set in (and dives deep into!) 1980’s Houston, Texas. Also, it somehow avoids most of the worst offenses of 80s teen comedies of the era. Kind of a strange one!
